Cloud migration services: move to AWS, Azure or Google Cloud without the downtime drama
Tvisha is a cloud migration company that plans the move application by application, tests it before anything goes live, and cuts over with a way back if something misbehaves - so your team keeps working while the infrastructure changes underneath it.
What is cloud migration?
Cloud migration is the process of moving applications, data and infrastructure from on-premise servers, or from one cloud to another, into a cloud environment such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud - without losing data or disrupting the business. Done well, you gain flexibility and lower running costs. Done badly, you get outages and a bill nobody predicted.
Our approach covers the full arc: assessing what you have, choosing the right route for each application, moving it in stages, and supporting it afterwards - delivered by the same in-house team that builds cloud applications every day.

Cloud migration services, from first assessment to life after go-live
A migration has a natural order, and this is ours. Use the whole sequence, or bring us in at the stage where you are stuck.
Readiness Assessment & Migration Planning
An inventory of your applications, data, dependencies and licences, followed by a written plan: what moves, in what order, by which route, and what could go wrong along the way.
Lift-and-Shift Migration
Moving applications to cloud servers as they are, with minimal change. It is the quickest route off aging hardware, and a sensible first step when a data-centre exit has a deadline.
Replatforming & Containerization
Small, targeted changes that let an application use managed cloud services: containers on Docker and Kubernetes, managed databases, and automated deployment pipelines (see our DevOps services).
Application Refactoring & Legacy Modernization
When a legacy system is holding the business back, we redesign it for the cloud rather than carrying the problems across. We start by deciding honestly whether to move it, modernize it, or replace it.
Database & Data Migration
Moving your data without loss or corruption: schema and dependency checks, trial migrations, validation of the result against the source, and a controlled final sync at cutover. Ongoing database management is available afterwards.
Security, Testing & Cutover
Access controls and network rules set up before data moves, functional and load testing in the new environment, and a scheduled cutover with a rollback plan ready.
Post-Migration Support & Optimization
The migration is not finished at go-live. We stabilise the new environment, monitor it, and support the application afterwards - and review your cloud costs once workloads are running, since the first bill after a move is rarely the lowest it can be.
Six ways to move an application, and how we choose
Not every application should be treated the same. For each one we pick the route that fits its value, its condition and your timeline.
Rehost
Move it as it is. Fastest and lowest risk, with the least cloud benefit.
Replatform
Move it with small changes so it can use managed services such as databases.
Refactor
Redesign it for the cloud. The most effort, and the most long-term payoff.
Repurchase
Replace it with a ready-made cloud product when that beats maintaining custom software.
Retire
Switch off what nobody uses. The cheapest migration is the one you do not do.
Retain
Leave it where it is for now, when moving it would cost more than it returns.
AWS, Azure and Google Cloud migration
Each provider ships its own migration tooling. We assess which of it suits your workloads, rather than defaulting to one platform.
AWS migration
Native tools we would evaluate:
- AWS Application Migration Service for rehosting servers
- AWS Database Migration Service for databases
- Amazon ECS and EKS for containerized workloads
- A Well-Architected review of the target design
Azure migration
Native tools we would evaluate:
- Azure Migrate for discovery and assessment
- Azure Database Migration Service for data
- Azure Kubernetes Service for containerized workloads
- Azure Hybrid Benefit to reuse existing licences
Google Cloud migration
Native tools we would evaluate:
- Migration Center for discovery and assessment
- Migrate to Virtual Machines for rehosting
- Database Migration Service for data
- Google Kubernetes Engine for containerized workloads
When to lift and shift, and when to re-architect
The two ends of the spectrum suit different situations. Most real migrations use both.
- A data-centre exit or hardware renewal sets a hard deadline
- The application is stable and does not need new features
- You plan to modernize later, once you are already in the cloud
- The application is central to the business and will keep changing
- It struggles with scaling, reliability or release speed today
- A straight copy would just move its problems to a new address
How a cloud migration engagement runs
Nothing moves until the step before it has been tested.
-
01
Assess & Plan
Inventory what you have, choose a route for each application, and agree the order and timeline.
-
02
Prepare & Pilot
Build the target environment and migrate one lower-risk application first, to prove the approach.
-
03
Migrate & Cut Over
Move in stages, test in the new environment, and switch over in an agreed window with rollback ready.
-
04
Stabilise & Support
Monitor, tune and support the new environment, and review costs once real load arrives.
The platforms and tools we migrate with
We have no preferred cloud to sell you, so the advice on where to go is about your workloads.
Why teams trust Tvisha with their cloud migration
Moving a working system is a delivery problem, not just an infrastructure one.
We build cloud applications too
Migration decisions are better when made by people who develop and run cloud software themselves.
Staged, reversible moves
Testing before cutover and a rollback plan mean a problem is an inconvenience, not an outage.
Two decades of shipping software
Twenty-plus years and 500+ delivered projects mean we have met most of the ways a migration can go sideways.
One team, start to finish
The engineers who assess your systems are the ones who migrate them. 100+ developers across two offices, all in-house.

Questions we get asked
Answers to what people usually ask before they commit to a move.
What is cloud migration?
Cloud migration is the process of moving applications, data and infrastructure from on-premise servers, or from one cloud to another, into a cloud environment such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, without losing data or disrupting the business.
Which migration approach is right for us: rehost, replatform or refactor?
It depends on the application. Rehosting is fastest and lowest-risk but gains the least from the cloud. Replatforming makes small changes to use managed services. Refactoring redesigns the application for the cloud and takes longest. We assess each application and often use a mix.
Will there be downtime during migration?
We plan to keep it minimal. Applications are migrated in stages, tested in the new environment before cutover, and switched over in an agreed window with a rollback plan ready, so a problem does not become an outage.
Can you migrate legacy applications?
Yes. We start with an assessment to decide whether a legacy system should be moved as it is, modernized, or replaced, then migrate it on that basis.
Which cloud should we migrate to?
We work with AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud and advise on the best fit for your workloads, existing licences and budget rather than pushing one provider.
What happens after the migration is complete?
We stabilise the new environment, monitor performance, and support the application afterwards. We can also review cloud costs once workloads are running, since the first bill after a migration is often higher than it needs to be.
How long does a cloud migration take?
It depends on how many applications are moving, how much data there is, and how much of each application changes. A single well-understood application can move in weeks; a portfolio of legacy systems takes months. The assessment gives you a realistic timeline before any work starts.
How much does cloud migration cost?
Cost depends on the same factors as timeline, plus the route chosen for each application. We do not quote a figure before an assessment, because a number given without seeing your systems would be a guess. After the assessment you get a written plan with the effort for each stage.
